What EverGrain Built does, and does not do

EverGrain Built provides information and a free matching service. We use the details you share to help connect you with builders who may fit your project. You compare your options and decide who, if anyone, to hire.

We do not build homes, design homes, supervise construction, issue permits, inspect work, or control pricing, schedules, products, crews, or jobsite safety. Any contract for design or construction is between you and the company you hire, not with EverGrain Built.

Information on this site, including pages like /learn/, /systems/, and /costs/, is general education only. It is not a promise that any home will reach a certain cost, comfort level, airtightness, certification, energy use, or resale value.

No guarantee of price, energy results, or project outcome

Green building results vary. Costs, timelines, energy use, comfort, indoor air quality, durability, and certification depend on many factors, including climate, site conditions, design choices, code rules, labor market, material availability, equipment, and the builder you hire.

Because of that, EverGrain Built does not guarantee any result. We do not promise a certain construction price, utility bill reduction, net-zero outcome, ACH target, blower-door result, insulation level, window performance, heat-pump performance, or certification approval.

Before you hire anyone, ask for the scope, exclusions, allowances, change-order process, timeline, warranty terms, and price in writing. If you want to start the process, you can get matched and then compare builders carefully.

Your information and contact consent

When you fill out our form, you give us project and contact details so we can respond and try to match you with builders. This may include things like your name, phone number, email, city or ZIP code, project type, budget range, timeline, lot status, and goals for energy efficiency or green features.

We do not ask for or need bank account numbers, credit card numbers, or other financial account numbers to provide our free matching service.

By submitting your information, you agree that EverGrain Built and matched builders may contact you about your request, including by phone call, email, and text message, using the contact details you provide. Standard message and data rates may apply. Your consent to be contacted helps us respond to your request, but it does not require you to hire anyone.

Your responsibility before hiring a builder

You are responsible for checking any company before you sign a contract. A match from EverGrain Built is not an endorsement, certification, warranty, or guarantee of quality, licensing, insurance, availability, price, or fit.

Before you hire a builder, you should:

• Verify the builder's license if your state or local area requires one.
• Verify general liability and, if relevant, workers' compensation insurance.
• Ask for a written contract that clearly states scope, price, allowances, exclusions, and change orders.
• Confirm who is responsible for plans, engineering, permits, testing, and code compliance.
• Ask questions about the specific performance details you care about, such as insulation R-value, window U-factor and SHGC, airtightness goals, blower-door testing, and HRV or ERV ventilation.

If needed, get advice from your own attorney, accountant, lender, insurer, architect, engineer, energy consultant, or local building department.
